Brian Chilton or Aani, roughly translated "Face of the Village" is a descendant from the Raven House, Yeil Hit, in Angoon Alaska. Brian is of the Raven moiety and belongs to the Deisheetaan clan, whose crest is the Beaver. Brian was born and raise in Juneau, Alaska.


Brian has been wood carving for the past twenty years. He was taught by his brothers in the basic techniques of the Tlingit art as well through an Indian Studies Program in the Juneau Schools. Today Brian has developed a unique style of his own and is proud to pass on the knowledge to his nephews. His artwork inclueds three dimensional totems, large, medium and small paddles, masks, plaques, panels and grease dishes as well as painted drums.
